The Weeve Rental

Weeve offers three types of rentals depending on your needs: Prepaid Flex
  • 7 or 14-day rental
  • Fully prepaid when picking up the car
  • $500 deposit via credit card pre-authorization
  • Renewal possible only in branch

The car can only be driven by the subscriber identified in the contract, except in exceptional situations (valet service or emergency).

Yes.
You may use the car if you are a member in good standing on a platform that provides insurance for your professional activities or if you have appropriate insurance.

Minimum contract duration
  • 2 weeks for Plus and Platinum rental

  • 13 weeks (3 months) for Basic rental

The Cars

Step 1 – Use a depth gauge
Insert the gauge stem into the grooves between the treads and press down until the base is level with the tire tread.
Step 2 – Interpret the measurement
  • 6/32 to 32/32: Tire in good condition
  • 3/32 to 6/32: Schedule replacement soon
  • 0/32 to 3/32: Replace immediately (critical wear)
  • Drive smoothly and maintain a moderate speed
  • Use regenerative braking to recover energy when slowing down
  • Manage heating and air conditioning efficiently
  • Maintain proper tire pressure
  • Precondition the battery while plugged in
  • Follow regular maintenance schedules
  • Enable Eco mode to reduce consumption
  • Avoid keeping the battery at extreme levels (0% or 100%) for long periods
  • Circuit électrique (Quebec): Charging stations across Quebec, payment via the mobile app.

  • Precondition the battery before departure

  • Use heated seats and steering wheel instead of cabin heating

Breakdowns and Accidents

Yes, depending on the chosen plan (e.g., Platinum), if your car is out of service for more than 3 business days and subject to availability.

Dead 12V battery
Contact a taxi service for a jump start (about $25). Keep the receipt.
Dead key battery
  • Insert the key into the designated slot
  • Put the transmission in Park or Neutral
  • Press the start button
  • Use the hidden key in the remote to unlock the door if needed
Slow leak

Reinflate the tire and go to:

  • Weeve service center

  • Or a garage such as Canadian Tire, Point S, Pneus Touchette

Keep the official receipt for reimbursement (Plus or Platinum plans).

Tire blowout

Call a towing service.
Maximum reimbursement: $317 + tax per tire.

In case of an at-fault accident requiring insurance:

  • Basic rental: up to $2,500 deductible

  • Plus or Platinum: up to $1,500 deductible

  • Call emergency services (911) if needed

  • Report the accident to the police

  • Take photos of car, licenses, accident report, and officer ID

  • Report the accident in the Uber app if you were online

  • Contact Weeve: support@weeve.ca

  • Provide full documentation of the incident

Contract and Invoicing

407 ETR and other tolls

  • Not included in the contract

  • Must be paid by the renter

  • Administrative fees may apply if unpaid

A25

  • A toll transponder is provided free with Weeve electric or plug-in car

Weeve pays the fine and charges the driver:

  • Fine amount

  • $50 administrative fee + tax

No appeals are accepted.

Plus and Platinum subscribers can request reimbursement for eligible expenses.

  • The car will be deactivated from the Uber platform until payment is received

  • A $50 + tax fee applies for each failed payment

  • If unpaid after 48 hours, the car may be impounded and contractual fees apply

Rental fees are billed weekly and paid in advance.

  • Montreal: invoice Wednesday, payment Thursday

  • Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver: invoice Thursday, payment Friday

The first payment is due when the car is delivered.

Weeve accepts Interac e-Transfers as well as credit or debit cards. These payment methods apply to all of our electric car rental programs across Canada.

  • The rental amount is charged weekly. Payments are taken in advance for the following week.

  • Montreal: Payment due on Thursday.

  • Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver: Payment due on Friday.

  • The security deposit is required at the time of reservation.

General Information

The security deposit varies depending on the type of rental and typically ranges from $500 to $1,000. The deposit is 100% refundable if the car is returned in good condition and no fines or fees have been issued during the rental period.

If there are any unpaid amounts, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the deposit.

Check the following points:

  • Active status: Your Uber Driver account must not be suspended.

  • App update: Make sure you are using the latest version of the app.

  • Valid documents: Ensure your driver’s license, insurance, and payment information are up to date.

  • Ride preferences: Verify that UberX is enabled in your ride preferences.

  • Payment: Make sure all your payments with Weeve are up to date.

If the issue persists, contact Uber support directly through the app.

To become an Uber driver in Toronto, you must obtain a Private Transportation Company (PTC) license.

Requirements:

  • Be 18 years old or older

  • Hold a valid Class G driver’s license

  • Have a clean criminal record and driving record

Required Documents:

  • Copy of your Ontario driver’s license

  • Proof of car insurance for commercial/passenger transport

  • Mechanical inspection completed at an approved center

  • Criminal background check

  • Driving record history (last 3 years)

  • Go to Uber Driver and click “Sign up to drive.”

  • Download the Uber Driver app and log in.

  • Provide the following documents:

    • Proof of eligibility to work

    • Profile photo

    • Provincial driver’s license

    • Training certificate

    • Tax settings/information

  • Uber will perform a background check.

  • Once approved, you can start driving.

  • Have an active Uber Driver account.

  • Send a copy of your driver’s license (from the province where you will operate).

  • Pay a $1,000 security deposit (100% refundable).

  • Schedule a car pickup appointment.

  • Start earning today!
